After GC College, ABVP now holds protest at Cachar College for refund of exam fees
Nov. 19: Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) was supposed to conduct the HS First Year Final Exam, 2020 in the month of April. But due to the pandemic situation followed by nationwide lockdown, the said examination was cancelled and all students were automatically promoted to HS 2nd Year. However, the students had already paid the examination fees of Rs.875 to their respective colleges much ahead of the outbreak of the pandemic in the month of December, 2019.
It is in this connection that the Cachar College Unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) raised a demand to return back the Exam Fees of HS 1st year Final exam collected by the college. In this connection, the ABVP Unit members of Cachar College, Silchar submitted a memorandum to the Principal on 9 October. ABVP demanded that the fees be immediately refunded to the students or else they will launch a vigorous agitation.
However, as the college authority did not yield to the demand of ABVP, so on Thursday they raised a strong protest inside the Cachar College campus. The ABVP unit of GC College, Silchar locked the Office of the Principal for 2 long hours and sat for demonstration raising slogans in support of their demand.
Finally, Dr. S.S. Nath, Principal of Cachar College provided the students an extract of the resolution of the Governing Body meeting which was held on 21 October, 2020.
