Advocate Ujjwal Kumar Das passes away in Hailakandi on Tuesday

September 1: Ujjwal Kumar Das (74), Advocate of Hailakandi breathed his last in Hailakandi on Tuesday morning. He suddenly felt a pain in his chest in the morning following which he was rushed to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead. He was a resident of Ward No.8, Lakhisahar in Hailakandi.

Ujjwal Kumar Das was the Public Prosecutor of Hailakandi District and Sessions Judges Court. He was the first Assistant Secretary of Hailakandi Bar Association in the year 1979 and thereafter he was the Secretary of the association during 1994-95. He was also the former District President of BJP. He was associated with journalism once upon a time. Ujjal Kumar Das had deep interest in cultural activities. His wife expired earlier. He is survived by his only married daughter. His death was mourned by many associated with him.
