Lions-Leo Silchar Greater’s continuous pandemic service on grocery donation and teleconsultation

June 15: Lions Club of Silchar Greater along with their youth wing Leo Club of Silchar Greater has been besides the people during the ongoing Covid pandemic. They are continuing a Grocery Donation Drive through out the month of June. The club members contributed from their own & distributed packets containing rice, pulse, oil, potato , salt, soyabean, soap and face mask among the financially deprived lot. They are distributing the grocery packs in the different parts of Silchar.

Project Chairperson Lion Sabyasachee Rudra Gupta and President of the Club Lion Anoop Dutta have informed that daily around 100 beneficiaries are served and in the coming days they will also cover the interior areas of Silchar. To make the project a grand success, the members who are working very hard and physically remained relentlessly are Ananda Ghosh, Indraneel Rudra Gupta, Debaraj Dhar, Shibam Das, Lucky Das, Abhradeep Dey,  Soumyajyoti Bhattacharjee, Rishabh Purkayastha, Subho Chakraborty, Debosmita Biswas,  Hrituraj Bhattachatjee,  Purabi Das and  Subhajit Das.

Lions and Leo Clubs of Silchar Greater have also initiated another project for last one month and that is ‘Covid Tele-consultation Service’. Under the project Chairmanship of Lion Dr.Y.N.Singha, five doctors are serving on behalf of the clubs who are Dr. Pradip Kumar Chakraborty, Dr. Sayanika Dhar, Dr. Ayan Purkayastha,Dr. Arpan Majumdar and Dr. Nayan Moni Choudhury. They receive quite a number of calls on a daily basis and offer free consultation service.
