113 tests Covid +ve in Karimganj on Wednesday, 117 discharged & 1 death registered

June 9: Karimganj registered 113 fresh COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. The district has currently 1,096 active COVID-19 cases, while 117 patients have been discharged from hospitals and home isolation on Wednesday. 3,722 swab samples were collected during the day. It needs mention here that 90 positive cases were detected in Karimganj on Tuesday.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 8 June to 5 PM on 9 June) witnessed demise of 04 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. Of the 04 deceased, 02 are from Cachar district, while 01 each are from Karimganj and Hailakandi. The deceased from Karimganj was identified as:
- Gopa Namasudra (38) from Karimganj took admission at SMCH at early morning (3.31 AM) on 9 June. She breathed her last just after a few hours at 8 AM on 9 June.
