Various events marked the Foundation Day of ‘My Home India’

December 9: A bunch of events were held in connection with the 13th Foundation Day of ‘My Home India’ (MHI).  My Home India Silchar, (MHI) founded as a people’s initiative for strengthening the unity and integrity of the country by creating better understanding and developing intimate fraternal relationship between the people belonging to different communities in various regions of the country with a special focus on North East India. The 13th Foundation Day of ‘My Home India’ celebrated with immense enthusiasm on 9th December, 2018 with a day long programme all over the country.

On this occasion, the Silchar Chapter of the organisation also celebrated the auspicious day by organising various welfare programmes. The celebration started with ‘Swachchta Abhiyan’ at Silchar Railway station. 22 volunteers of the organisation participated on the event. The second program was on distribution of fruits among 70 patients at Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Silchar.

Later, a drawing competition was organised among the students of Shilpangan Art School of Malugram. Around 80 students participated in the competition. The winners of the event were distributed Medals & Trophies. The dignitaries who graced the occasion were Dr. Sanjib Bhattacharjee (Registrar, Assam university), Madhu Mongal Nath , Bhola Karmakar, Arijit Goswami, Amit Sinha, Bishvajit Dutta, Mithun Chakraborty, Mithun Roy (Secretary, SAKSHAM South Assam), Sandipan Dutta Purkayastha (Principal of Shilpangan), Pintu Das along with the other volunteers of My Home India Silchar unit.The judge of the Sit & Draw Competition was Monika Paul.

The programmes were graced by the presence of Shri Akhilesh Yadav ,National in-charge of JANAROGYA Raksha & Co-incharge-Central Zone MHI. The events were supported by the renowned social activists Subhranshu Shekhar Bhattacharya & Dhrubendu Shekhar Bhattacharya.
