BJP Dist Mahila Morcha Gen Secretary Piyali Choudhury dies of burn injury

May 21: In a tragic incident, General Secretary of Cachar District Mahila Morcha of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Piyali Choudhury breathed her last. She was around 41 years of age.  As per reports, she got burnt at night on 19 May. At once, she was rushed to Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). Inspite of the best efforts to save her, Piyali Choudhury finally breathed her last at 12.48 PM on 21 May, 2021. Her last rites were performed on Friday.

A resident of Sashan Road, Silchar, Piyali Choudhury is survived by her husband Dhruba Choudhury and a host of kith and kin. Condolence message started to pour in from every level of Cachar BJP. Reacting to the news of her demise, Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty said, “I am totally speechless. It’s very difficult for me to come to terms with the fact that Piyali is no more amidst us.”
