4,078 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Friday, 76 deaths registered
Death toll crosses 2000 mark in Assam
May 14: On Friday, out of 44,057 tests, 4,078 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 3,19,632. The positivity rate in the state is 9.26 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 1,107 positive cases during the day. Further, on Friday, 76 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 2,060.
It needs mention here that on Thursday, 5,468 persons tested positive in Assam and 75 deaths were registered.
On Friday, 4,168 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 2,74,247 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 85.80 percent. At present, there are 41,978 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 76 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 76 deceased, 20 are from Kamrup Metro; 6 from Tinsukia; 5 each from Kamrup Rural & Kokhrajhar; 4 each from Barpeta, Nalbari, Dibrugarh & Sonitpur; 3 each from Karbi Anglong & South Salmara; 2 each from Baksha, Bongaigaon, Goalpara, Karimganj & Nagaon; 1 each from Cachar, Chirang, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Golaghat, Jorhat, Lakhimpur & Sivasagar. The death tally of the state now stands at 2,060.
