Voting for 47 constituencies in Phase 1 to begin at 7 AM on Saturday in Assam

March 27: The Phase 1 of Assam Assembly Election, 2021 will begin at 7 AM on Saturday. A total of 264 candidates including Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal are in the race during this phase. There are 23 women candidates contesting the polls in Phase 1. Phase 1 of Assam Elections would be held across 12 of the 34 districts of the state. Polling for 47 constituencies would take place during the day following the COVID-19 protocol. The next two phases will be held on 1 April and 6 April.
