Inter-state meeting held between Cachar & East Jayantia Hills due to ensuing assembly polls

Jan. 30: In pursuance of Election Commission guidelines, an inter-state meeting was held between Deputy Commissioner Cachar, Keerthi Jalli and Deputy Commissioner East Jayantia Hills, E.Kharmalki at the Forest Inspection Bungalow in Umkiang, Meghalaya on Friday.

May be an image of one or more people, people sitting and indoorDuring the meet, DIG Southern Range Dilip Kumar Dey explained the purpose of the meeting. While speaking on the occasion, he said, “Keeping in view, the ensuing assembly elections, 2021, both the states should work jointly along with all departmental heads to check illegal cash flow, liquor and other detrimental elements which may create an atmosphere of mayhem during the poll.”

The Deputy Commissioners of both the Districts assured working in unison to thwart any such untoward incidents during election period.The other officials in the meeting echoed the same view unanimously. Further, such more meetings were contemplated in the coming days along with the other bordering districts of Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Bangladesh as well. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by Deputy Commissioner East Jayantia Hills, Meghalaya E. Kkharmalki.

Others who took part in the meeting were DIG Southern Range Dilip Kumar Dey, Superintendent of Police, Cachar, Bhanwar lal Mina, Superintendent of Police East Jayantia Hills, Vivekanand Singh IPS, Circle Officer, Katigorah, Pranjit Deb, Superintendent of Taxes, Cachar Debojit Ghosh, District Transport Officer, Cachar, Angshuman Biswas, Assistant Commissioner of Taxes, Cachar, Papori Niog and Assistant Inspector of Taxes, Partha Chakraborty.
