Teachers’ Association takes out protest rally against VC of Dibrugarh Univ on charges of financial irregularities
Jun. 27: A protest rally was taken out by the Dibrugarh University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) in the campus against the Vice Chancellor of the university on alleged charges of rampant financial irregularities on Wednesday. A sit-in demonstration was also staged in front of the office of the Vice Chancellor Professor Ranjit Tamuli.
The Teachers’ Association of the varsity has raised the demand of a high-level probe into the alleged grave financial irregularities and misuse of public funds in Dibrugarh University by the Vice Chancellor. In a memorandum addressed to the Assam Governor-cum-Chancellor of the university, DUTA alleged that the Vice Chancellor used fraudulent hotel invoices and bogus conveyance bills to withdraw public funds.
