Protest at 2 schools in Borjalenga by ABVP for returning fees of exam not held due to pandemic

Dec. 4: Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) was supposed to conduct the HS First Year Final Exam, 2020 in the month of April. But due to the pandemic situation followed by nationwide lockdown, the said examination was cancelled and all students were automatically promoted to HS 2nd Year. However, the students had already paid the examination fees to their respective schools/ colleges much ahead of the outbreak of the pandemic in the month of December, 2019.

It is in this connection that the Borjalenga Unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) raised a demand to return back the Exam Fees of HS 1st year Final exam collected by PC Borjalenga HS Schoo and Adarsha Vidya Niketan. In this connection, the ABVP Unit members of Borjalenga submitted a memorandum to the Principal of these two schools on Friday.

Speaking to way2barak, AVBP Borjalenga Unit members informed that the principal of PC Borjalenga HS School has assured the delegation that they will refund the fees after deducting the amount taken by the Council within a week. On the other hand, Principal of Adarsha Vidya Niketan informed the delegation that they have spent the amount on different exam expenses. Instead of returning the HS 1st year exam fees, the Principal said that he will not take the 2nd year exam registration fees as well as the Unit test fees .
