26 tests +ve in Cachar on Friday, 2 more deaths at SMCH

Active cases 131 in Cachar

Nov. 13: On Friday, a total of 26 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1274 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 23 persons were found positive, whereas 03 persons were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Friday night.

With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 10,602. Further, a total of 10,434 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 131 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 15 persons were found positive in Cachar on Thursday.

In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Friday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 331 persons were collected. 583 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 06 tested positive. Further, 309 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 02 were found positive.

Apart from this, 01 new patients of COVID-19 were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and 06 were discharged. At present, there are 26 active patients at SMCH, out of which, 07 are admitted in ICU and 03 were administered oxygen.

Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, 02 patients from Cachar district died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. However, these were regarded as non-Covid deaths by the State Death Audit Board. As of now, there were 176 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 176 deaths, 63 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
