Numbers fall again; 8 tests +ve in Cachar on Wednesday, district tally rises to 10,586

Active cases 146 in Cachar

Nov. 11: On Wednesday, a total of 08 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1487 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 08 persons were found positive, whereas none were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Wednesday night.

With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 10,586. Further, a total of 10,403 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 146 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 20 persons were found positive in Cachar on Tuesday.

In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Wednesday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 390 persons were collected. 481 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, none tested positive. Further, 490 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 03 were found positive.

Apart from this, 04 new patients of COVID-19 were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and 01 were discharged. At present, there are 29 active patients at SMCH, out of which, 12 are admitted in ICU and 02 were kept under ventilation support. Apart from this, 03 patients are now critical.

Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, none died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. As of now, there were 174 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 174 deaths, 63 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
