30 tests +ve in Cachar on Thursday, district tally rises to 10,478
Active cases 140 in Cachar
Nov. 5: On Thursday, a total of 30 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1640 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 19 persons were found positive, whereas 11 person were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Thursday night.
With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 10,478. Further, a total of 10,291 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 140 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 41 persons were found positive in Cachar on Wednesday.
In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Thursday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 535 persons were collected. 882 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 03 of them tested positive. Further, 574 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 08 were found positive.
Apart from this, 06 new patients of COVID-19 were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and 04 were discharged. At present, there are 24 active patients at SMCH, out of which, 11 are admitted in ICU and none were in ventilation support. Further, 258 persons have donated plasma which was administered upon 487 patients.
Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, none have died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. As of now, there were 173 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 173 deaths, 63 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
