11 new corona cases detected on Friday; tally rises to 3,257 in Hailakandi

16 Oct : 11 fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported from South Assam’s Hailakandi district on Friday, taking the total tally to 3,257. Health authorities here disclosed that of the 11 positive cases, one has been detected under the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). Altogether 684 swab samples were taken on Friday out of which 155 are under RT-PCR and 529 under RAT.

Altogether 1,907 cases have been found positive under RAT with over 50 per cent without travel history. 3,164 persons on being cured have been discharged from hospitals.The number of active cases is 76. Eight COVID-19 positive patients have breathed their last at Silchar Medical College and Hospital. 11 deaths at SMC&H have been declared as ‘non-COVID’ by the State level Death Audit Board. 38 COVID-19 asymptomatic persons are under home isolation.

Of the 27,994 RT-PCR samples taken, 25,433 have tested negative. Swab results of 176 persons are awaited. Altogether 97,109 swab samples were taken out of which 27,994 are under RT-PCR and 69,115 under RAT.
