DC Cachar flags off Awareness Rally on COVID-19
Sept.23: As part of Swachetna Campaign, Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli flagged off an awareness rally on Wednesday from the Office of Joint Director of Health Services in presence of Dr. SJ Das, Joint Director of Health Services, Rahul Ghose, DPM, NHM, Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert, NHM, Indrajit Dey, DUHC, Ujjal Das, DCM and other officials of the Health department. ASHAs of Urban Centre and nursing staff of SM Dev Civil Hospital participated in the rally.
Speaking on the occasion, Jalli appreciated the efforts of ASHAs and other frontline workers to contain the COVID-19 disease. She said, “In spite of so many hardships, the frontline workers are never found to be reluctant to work extra mile, which has resulted in minimising COVID deaths.” Jalli also urged them to visit door-to-door once again to sensitise community about the precautionary measures against COVID-19.
The Deputy Commissioner said In many cases, people in home isolation are not adhering to the protocols which is leading towards COVID-related complications. “ASHAs should sensitise common public regarding the do’s and don’ts during home isolation,” she added.
The rally starting from Jail Road moved through main thoroughfares of the town before concluding at the Joint Director of Health Services Office campus. This is stated in a Press Release issued from the Office of DDIPR, Silchar.
