Additional Allotment of rice under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana in Cachar

Sept.16: Rice for the month of October 2020 under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana has been alloted in Cachar district. Additional Deputy Commissioner incharge Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs issued an order on Tuesday wherein it is stated that under Silchar Sub Division 6,266.35 quintal of Antadaya Anna Yojana rice has been allotted, whereas Priority Household rice alloted is 51,155.40 quintal with the total allocation being 57,421.75 quintal. Under Lakhipur Sub-Division, Antadaya Anna Yojana rice alloted is 1,485.95 quintal and 10,779.05 quintal allotted under Priority Household rice with total allocation being 12,265.00 quintal.

It further stated that additional allocation of food grains has been made @5kg per person per month free of cost to all beneficiaries under Antadaya Anna Yojana and Priority Household covered under TPDS. It also further stated that under Silchar Sub-Division out of total 1,675 fair price shops, Antadaya Anna Yojana rice will be distributed among 1,25,327 beneficiaries encompassing 30,332 ration cards at the rate of 5 kg per beneficiary amounting to 6,266.35 quintal. In respect of Priority Household, a total of 1023108 beneficiaries will get rice at the rate of 5 kg each amounting to 51,155.40 quintal.

Under Lakhipur sub-division, Antadaya Anna Yojana will be distributed to 29,719 beneficiaries at the rate of 5 kg per beneficiary amounting to 1,485.95 quintal. In respect of Priority Household, altogether 215581 beneficiaries will get rice at the rate of 5 kg each. Total allotment of rice both under AAY and PHH is 57,421.75 quintal under Silchar Sub-Division while under Lakhipur Sub-Division, total allotment of rice both under AAY and PHH is 12,265.00 quintal. The total allotment of rice in Cachar district is 69,686.75 quintal covering both Antadaya Anna Yojana and Priority Household categories.

All area officers of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs will strictly monitor the distribution of food grains issued as additional allotment for the month of October under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana free of cost and penal action will be initiated against fair price shop dealers if found realising any prices from the consumers. The area officers will also ensure that there is no deviation from the fixed quantity of food grains allotted to the beneficiaries by the unscrupulous traders.
