Sadbhavana Diwas observed in Hailakandi in befitting manner

August 20: All the Government offices across Hailakandi district observed the 76th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi as “Sadbhavana Diwas” on Thursday. The theme of “Sadbhavana Diwas”, which is celebrated across the country on this day every year, is to promote national integration and communal harmony and spread the message of goodwill towards everyone and eschewing violence.

As part of the event, officials and employees took the pledge to work for “the emotional oneness and harmony of all the people of India regardless of caste, region, religion or language” and to resolve all differences “through dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence”.

Deputy Commissioner, Hailakandi, Megh Nidhi Dahal administered the pledge to the officials and employees of his establishment at his office conference hall here at the dot 11 am. District Development Commissioner, Vikram Dev Sharma, Assistant Commissioner, Mongve Enghi and other officials and employees were present. The day was observed in the Office of DIPRO, Water Resources, Agriculture, Fishery, Legal Metrology and other offices across the district.
