Assam registers 6 more COVID-19 deaths including 2 from Karimganj, tally reaches 76
July 24: Another six persons were reported to have died due to COVID-19 in Assam. Out of the six, two are from Karimganj district. These two were identified as Abdul Halim Laskar (75) and Smt Alekjan Bibi (55). The other four deceased due to coronavirus are: Sarafuddin Ahmed (54) from Nalbari; Parvati Das (85), Prafulla Sharma (60) and Sri Saroj Kr Majumdar (78) from Kamrup Metro. In a tweet, this was stated by State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday. With this, the death tally of the state has gone upto 76.
Six more #COVID patients, Sri Abdul Halim Laskar (75) & Smt Alekjan Bibi (55) from Karimganj; Sri Sarafuddin Ahmed (54) from Nalbari; Smt Parvati Das (85), Sri Prafulla Sharma (60) & Sri Saroj Kr Majumdar (78) from Kamrup Metro succumbed to their infections today.

It needs mention here that Karimganj district recorded deaths of two COVID-19 patients on Thursday. The deceased were identified as Shamim Ahmed and Kiran Shankar Das. Out of the two, the death of Shamim Ahmed was regarded by the State Death Audit Board as due to coronavirus. This was the 1st official COVID death in Karimganj. The two more deaths registered on Friday would take the death tally of Karimganj district to a total of 03.
