1047 new cases detected in Assam on Thursday, state tally goes upto 28,791

July 23: On Thursday, 1047 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from across Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has gone upto 28, 791, out of which, 9368 are active cases. Thursday also registered 4 more deaths due to COVID-19, thereby taking the death tally to 70. In a tweet, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, ““Alert ~ 1047 new #COVID19 cases detected in Assam on July 23, with 219 in Guwahati City alone. With 19,000 + tests in 24 hrs, our positivity rate is a tiny 5.25%.””
