DC Cachar visits containment zone at Sewti village, distributes ration to quarantined families

June 17: With the rise in the number of COVID-19 positive cases, the Cachar district administration is all geared up to tackle the situation effectively. Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli is leading the war against novel coronavirus in a war-footing. On Wednesday, DC Jalli paid a visit to the Containment Zone in Sewti Village, Part-II in Cachar district.

Interacting with the local populace, Keerthi Jalli explained to them about the do’s and don’ts in connection with the containment zone. She said that no movement will be allowed except for medical emergencies, essential goods and services. In case of any exigencies, the people within the containment zone were asked by her to keep in touch with the village level committee and ASHA workers.

DC Jalli also interacted with the family members of a pregnant lady who recently got cured after being infected with COVID-19. She enquired about the health status of the lady and assured all help on behalf of the district administration. She further visited a few quarantined houses and explained to them in lucid terms the safety instructions which needs to be followed. The Deputy Commissioner also interacted with the ASHA workers and gave them necessary instructions. Her presence has a positive impact on the mindset of the people of the area. She later on handed over packets of ration to the families who were quarantined.

Expressing her views, DC Jalli said, “We are trying our level best to extend full cooperation to those who are quarantined. I solicit the cooperation of those who are quarantine. The district administration is always open to lend its ears for any constructive suggestions.” In an optimistic note, Jalli remarked, “Together we can and we will definitely be able to contain the spread of coronavirus in our district.”

During her visit, the Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Dr. S.J. Das, Joint Director of Health Services, Dr. M. Ahmed, in-charge of Bikrampur BPHC, Rahul Ghosh DPM, NHM, District Media Expert Suman Choudhury along with other officials.
