19th Foundation day of Blood Donors Forum observed in a befitting manner

Established on this Language Martyrs Day in the year 2002, Barak Valley Voluntary Blood Donors Forum (BVVBDF) celebrated its 19th foundation day on 19th May, 2020. In this connection, a voluntary blood donation camp has been organised by the Forum at the AMSA House of the Civil Hospital in which 12 donors including 3 females donated their blood. It is to be mentioned that, due to the prevailing outbreak of COVID-19, the Forum did not organise their outdoor camp after a long time.

The camp was inaugurated after lighting of the lamp and paying homage to the 11 language martyrs of the land.
State Cabinet Minister, Parimal Suklabaidya was present as the chief guest of the event. He inspired the donors and members of the organisation for their selfless works for the cause of humanity and assured the Forum all kinds of support in coming days.

The inaugural ceremony was held under the presidentship of Dr. Manoj Kr. Paul, the President of the Cachar District Committee of Barak Valley Voluntary Blood Donors Forum, where, the Working President of the Central Committee of Barak Valley Voluntary Blood Donors Forum Ashu Paul, Central General Secretary Karunamay Paul, Cachar District General Secretary Sabyasachee Rudra Gupta, Joint Director of Health Services Dr. S.J. Das, Superintendent of S. M. Dev Civil Hospital Dr. Ashutosh Burman, and the in-charge of Blood Bank of S.M. Dev Civil Hospital Dr. Subrata Nandy were also present. The first donor of the camp was Tamal Kanti Banik, the former Chairman of Silchar Municipal Board.

Among others, Central Assistant Secretary Amal Das, Central Media Secretary Sujoy Nath, Central Treasurer Debabrata Paul, District Assistant Secretaty Anup Dutta, District Media Secretary Shibam Das, District Treasurer  Prabal Kanti Banik, the President of Women’s Wings Shikta Paul, Working President Bubu Choudhury, Executive Member Debosmita Biswas were also present there. MLA of Silchar, Dilip Kumar Paul had also arrived and was seen extolling the donors.
