Book stalls in Cachar to operate thrice a week subject to terms & conditions
April 25: From now onwards, book stalls selling books of curriculum can operate in Cachar district subject to certain conditions. In pursuance of the Notification issued by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India vide letter No 40-3/2020-DM-I(A), dated 21/4/2020, books shops/stalls with curriculum books for students only are allowed to operate thrice a week on Monday, Wednesday & Friday. The book stalls are required to operate fulfilling the following terms and conditions:
- They will deal with curriculum books for students only.
- Books shops/stalls will have to primarily arrange for home delivery of books.
- In case of nearby guardians who want to collect the books from books shops/stalls without using vehicle, may collect the books from the shops.
- No passes will be issued to any individual/parents for collection of books from books shops/stalls.
- Wearing of mask by the employee is compulsory along with sanitization facility and social distancing to be maintained at books shops/stalls.
- Books shops/stalls are allowed to open between 10 AM to 1 PM.
- For the movement of employees of books shops/stalls, proprietor of the Book Shops will issue identity card to them. No separate permission from District Administration is required.
The word was issued by Barnali Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar. It was further stated that this order may be withdrawn at any point without assigning any reason, if the situation arises.
