India becomes 17th nation to reach 20,000 COVID-19 cases

April 22: In a global context, India becomes the 17th nation of the world to reach 20,000 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. The death toll also croseed the 600 mark. As per covid19india.org, the total number of corona affected cases stood at 20,328 at 12.30 PM on 22 April. The total number of fatal cases were recorded at 652, while 4006 patients have recovered till now.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state with 5,218 cases and 251 casualties. The other states where cases were the most are Gujarat (2,178), Delhi (2,156), Tamil Nadu (1,596), Rajasthan (1,659), Madhya Pradesh (1,552), Uttar Pradesh (1294) and Telangana (928). Gujarat recorded 95 deaths, Madhya Pradesh 80 deaths, Delhi 47 deaths, Rajasthan 26 death and so on.
