Hailakandi teachers ensure ‘learning never stops’ amid Coronavirus
April 20: Online teaching is the in-thing this pandemic season. Despite lockdown, teachers of Hailakandi extended learning support to students through ICT enabled Distance Learning Programme (DLP) in secondary schools and madrassas. Inspector of Schools, Rajiv Kr Jha said that like all other days, on Sunday too, ICT classes were conducted by teachers in all 36 pre senior madrassas and 14 higher secondary schools of the district.
Among the 12 title and senior madrassas, barring three schools namely Bhatirkupa Senior Madrassa, Polarpar Girls’ Senior Madrassa and Uttar Hailakandi Anchalik Senior Madrassa, the remaining nine schools conducted the classes. Among 34 secondary schools of the district except the Sanskrit Tol and Purbokittorbond High School, all 32 high schools and high madrassas conducted their classes in DLP mode. Of the 14 higher secondary schools, Public HS School emerged as star performer of the day by extending learning support to its students in 11 subjects.
Among high schools and high madrassa category with extending learning support in eight subjects each, Hailakandi Town High Madrassa and MRC High School were jointly adjudged the star performers on Sunday. Among the 12 title and senior madrassas, Mohammadia Senior Madrassa with learning extended to students in six subjects, and among 36 pre-senior madrassas (PSMs) of the district, A Hakim and Tukargram PSMs with learning support to students in nine subjects each were jointly declared the star performers.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner, Keerthi Jalli appreciated the Inspector of Schools, heads of schools and teachers for arranging various activities for students of the district on Ambedkar Jayanti on April 14. Jha said the status of ICT enabled classes being conducted in the district is also monitored and guided by MD, SSA, B. Kalyan Chakravarti and Chairman, SEBA, RC Jain through zoom conferencing. The SCERT, Assam learning support is also extended to students through Doordarshan and AIR.
