Last date to file IT Returns extended to 30 June

March 24: The government in an emergent declaration extended the last day of filing 2018-19 Income Tax Returns to 30 June, 2020. No fine will be charged from anyone. Addressing a press meet on Tuesday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that in view of the COVID-19 global threat, the ministry has decided to extend the deadline for filing IT Returns to 30 June, 2020.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman further announced that the last date for filing GST return, and linking of Aadhaar-PAN has been extended to June 30 as majority of India goes under lockdown to arrest the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. There will no GST penalties for small companies.
