Public gathering in all religious institutions prohibited in Cachar till further orders

March 20: To prevent the possibility of outbreak and spread of COVID-19 (corona virus) amongst the inhabitants of Cachar District and as a precautionary measure, Barnali Sarma, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar Smt Barnali has clamped Section 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 in the district.

DC Cachar imposed strict restrictions on gathering and movement of devotees  in all the religious institutions like mosques, churches, temples, akhras and Gurdwaras etc. Further , Public gathering was also prohibited in the premises of religious institution until further order.

Non compliance with the orders will be dealt as per the specified section. This was stated in a press release issued by Regional Office of Information and Public Relations, Barak Zone Assam.
