Public holiday declared on Tuesday, Banks, University to remain closed

শঙ্করদেব তিথি উপলক্ষে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ছুটি ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। রেজিস্ট্রার ড. সঞ্জীব ভট্টাচার্য বিজ্ঞপ্তি জারি করে বলেছেন, রাজ্যপালের নির্দেশে সে দিন কোনও ক্লাশ হবে না।

এ দিকে, অসম সরকারের সাধারণ প্রশাসন বিভাগের কমিশনার-সচিব ড. এম আঙ্গামুথু জানিয়েছেন, মঙ্গলবার রাজ্য সরকারও ছুটি দিয়েছে।

সে দিন কোনও সরকারি, আধা সরকারি দফতরে কাজ হবে না। একইভাবে রাজ্যে যে সব আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান ও সমবায় ব্যাঙ্ক রয়েছে সেগুলি বন্ধ থাকবে।

On the occasion of Srimanta Shankardev Tithi, all classes of Assam University will remain suspended on Tuesday. Dr. Sanjib Bhattacharjee, Registrar of the varsity  stated that in view of the order of the Governor he has issued the notification. It was further stated that the office will remain open.

Meanwhile, Dr. M.Angamuthu, Commissioner & Secretary of the General Administration Department of the Government of Assam declared a public holiday on Tuesday on the occasion of Srimanta Shankardev Tithi.

It was stated in the notification that “All the financial institutions, Cooperative Banks etc within the state of Assam will remain closed on account of this public holiday under N.I. Act.”
