CM Sonowal flags off Guwahati-Bangkok direct flight

September 22: It’s indeed a good news for the people of Northeast in general and Assam in particular. Nok Air, a subsidiary of Thai Airways International, which is a low-cost carrier based in Bangkok has started its direct flight service between Guwahati and Bangkok. .As a major boost to the communication sector of Northeast India, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal flagged off the first flight to Bangkok at Lokapriya GopinathBordoloi International Airport on 22 September, 2019.

Chief minister Sonowal that connectivity has always remained a major bottleneck in optimum realization of the growth prospects of the region. Sonowal said, “This moment is yet another realisation of PM Shri Narendra Modi ji’s #ActEast vision & will boost Indo-Thai tourism & trade.”

The airlines will run two flights – DD4117 and DD4116. The flight will depart from DMK Airport in Bangkok at 23.30 pm and arrive at 12.40 am (+1) at LGBI Airport in Guwahati. This direct flight will be available on Wednesdays and Saturdays between Bangkok and Guwahati. Whereas, the flight will depart from LGBI Airport in Guwahati at 1:40 am and arrive at DMK Airport in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand at 6 am. This direct flight will be will be available on Thursdays and Sundays.

The direct non-stop flight will reach Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) from the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati in less than three hours. The introductory offers will include free hot meals and 20 kg baggage allowance. Further Nok Air has announced that the fares will start at Rs 6,999.
