Heroin, Yaba tablets seized in two operations in Cachar

way2barak January 15 : Based on credible intelligence Cachar Police has launched two separate operations against the transportation of illegal narcotics substances yesterday and seized substantial quantities of drugs.

A container truck bearing regd No .AS-01NC/6799 was intercepted at Silchar Bye Pass and during thorough search 08 nos of soap cases containing suspected heroin were recovered which were kept concealed in the secret chambers of the vehicle weighing about 88 grams, seized and sealed in presence of independent witnesses. In this connection two peddlers have been arrested. They are 1) Md Jamanur Majumdar, Ganganagar Part iv, Kachudaram and 2) M Ahmed Laskar, Natun Ramnagar Part iv, Sonai. The price of the narcotics substance in the black market is about 60(sixty) lacs, said Numal Mahatta, SP Cachar.

Another operation, three persons were apprehended at Rangirghat Part ii, Sonai. They are 1)Pabindra Riang, Khakrakhal, Dholai 2) Baharul Islam Laskar, Mohankhal, Kachudaram and 3) Prabhat Barman, Simid Nagar, Kachudaram.  During thorough search 9000 YABA tablets were recovered from them. The narcotics substance were seized and sealed in presence of independent witnesses. One scotty used for transportation has also been seized.The price of the seized narcotics substance is about 3 crores.

Mahatta said that further investigation into the both cases have been on.
