Himanta distributed 465 appointment letters
way2barak, 27 July: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, while distributing appointment letters to 465 new recruits across various departments on Friday, claimed that the state govt has recruited over 97,000 people in a transparent manner since he took office, creating an ecosystem, building trust among the people. Sarma reaffirmed his promise from the last assembly elections to provide employment to 1 lakh youths. He said since May 2021, the govt has upheld a transparent and merit-based recruitment process, free from corruption and nepotism. “The current govt has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, resulting in significant legal actions, including a 10-year prison sentence for a former chairman of the APSC and seven-year rigorous imprisonment for those who obtained jobs through corrupt means,” Sarma said.
