6 women among 9 Bangladeshi national held in Tripura

way2barak, June 22 : Nine more Bangladeshi nationals including six women were detained at the Agartala railway station before they boarded the train bound for other parts of the country, police said.

An official of the Government Railway Police said that all the nine Bangladeshi nationals, aged between 20 to 45 years, illegally entered Tripura and came to Agartala railway station to catch the train.

The detainees told the GRP officials that they are intended to go to Delhi and Bengaluru in search of jobs.

With this 55 Bangladeshi nationals arrested in Tripura in less than two months and all the trespassers entered into India through clandestine routes and in search of jobs in other parts of the country.

Despite most parts of the 856 km India-Bangladesh border with Tripura already fenced and strict security put in place, Bangladeshi nationals are often being caught in the northeastern state. *EOM*
