Vigilance Awareness Week at Silchar Airport

way2barak, Nov 7: Vigilance Awareness Week 2023 was successfully organized at Silchar Airport from 30 October to 05 November. The theme of this year was ‘Say no to corruption; commit to the Nation’ given by the Central Vigilance Commission.

During this period, the Airports Authority of India, Silchar Airport organized several programs to propagate the idea of democratic governance and to dedicate oneself to the welfare of the nation. Silchar Airport organized a walkathon among the airport locals to inculcate the idea of transparency in administration. As an integral addendum to the vigilance activities, Silchar Airport carried out the creative displays on the Flight Information Display System to create awareness among the passengers and to highlight the importance of being committed to combating corruption and promoting integrity. Along with this, quiz and painting competitions were successfully organized for the younger students to instil honesty, morality, and integrity among them so that they could become role models for others in the future. On the Vigilance topic, an extempore speech was organized among the employees to hear their views about strengthening the governance process for the better development of the nation. During the closing ceremony, the chief guest, the Principal of DN Higher Secondary School expressed her views on vigilance. In the concluding ceremony, the Airport Director appreciated the efforts of the Silchar Airport team for observing the vigilance awareness week in a befitting manner and motivated all the AAI staff and the entire audience about the need for selfless service and sanity in public life for the greatest welfare of the public and for enriching the airport service quality to the passengers. All the successful participants who participated were awarded during the closing ceremony.
