Dr. Binoy Paul has joined paper pulp workshop in Uttar Pradesh
Way2barak, April 14 : A four-day workshop on paper pulp art was started on Thursday at the Faculty of Architecture and Planning of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh. The subject expert for this workshop is Dr. Binoy Paul, a resident of Silchar Assam. He has created creative work in paper pulp medium and has displayed art work in the country and abroad.
In the next three days, Dr. Binoy, together with the students of the Faculty of Architecture, will discuss the nuances of the medium and create artifacts. While delivering his lecture, Dr. Binoy Paul mentioned that Paper pulp medium is an ancient and simple medium. Its use is widely seen in the traditional folk art of the country. It can be prepared at low cost and using minimal technology. Large-sized works in this medium are very light and can be easily moved. Initially natural colours were used in it. But at present acrylic and other bright colors are used.
Bhupendra Kumar Asthana said that while formally starting the workshop, the introduction of the invited artists and history works were displayed. Head of Department Dr. Ritu Gulati honored the artist by giving her a bouquet. About 150 students and faculty members were present along with the workshop coordinators Girish Pandey, Dheeraj Yadav. Subject Expert Dr. Binoy Paul mentioned that the participants are very enthusiastic. In this workshop we will definitely do some new and unique creative work together.
