ASSAM RIFLES AND MIZORAM POLICE RECOVERED HEROIN WORTH RS 59.5 LAKH IN CHAMPHAI
way2barak, Feb 4: In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, Serchip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), recovered HEROIN NO-4 worth Rs. 59.5 lakh in general area Maulkawi, Champhai yesterday.
Based on specific information, operation was carried out by a combined team of Assam Rifles and Police Department, Champhai.
Approximate cost of the recovered HEROIN – NO 4 Rs 59.5 lakh (Fifty nine lakh fifty thousand only). The seized consignment was handed over to Police station, Champhai today for further legal proceedings.
Ongoing smuggling of illegal drugs is a major cause of concern for the state of Mizoram. Assam Rifles, rightly christened as the ‘Sentinels of Northeast’ have been successful in launching such operations against the smuggling activities in Mizoram.
