Assam Govt constitute 6-member Delimitation Board in respect of Silchar Municipal Corporation

way2barak, Jan.3: The Governor of Assam under Department of Housing & Urban Affairs Govt. of Assam has constituted the Delimitation Board in respect of Silchar Municipal Corporation. Issuing an order to this effect, Joint Secretary to the Govt of Assam constituted a 6-member Delimitation Board. This Board shall comprise of the following members:

1. DC Cachar or any other officer nominated by him: Chairman
2. MLA Silchar: Member
3. Hemanta Bhuyan, ACS, Jt Secretary, Govt of Assam, Housing & Urban Affairs Dept: Member
4. ADC, Cachar, Silchar: Member
5. Executive Officer of Silchar Municipal Board: Member
6. Bimal Oswal, LLB, Social Worker, Dhubri Medical Hall: Member

Expressing his views in this regard, MLA Silchar, Dipayan Chakraborty said, “We are really thankful to Hon’ble CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and Hon’ble Minister of Urban Affairs, Shri Ashok Singhal for their support rendered in upgrading of SMB to Corporation. Now it is time for Delimitation of Wards and as one of the members of the Delimitation Board, I need your support and blessings to do justice to the responsibility trusted on me.”
