Embezzling of Govt Fund: Assistant Engineer arrested in Karimganj

way2barak, Dec.8: On the basis of a complaint filed by MLA Siddique Ahmed, a thorough investigation was done and finally an Assistant Engineer was found to be involved in embezzling a huge amount of money. Finally, on Thursday, Assistant Engineer, Sudeep Sarkar of Lowairpoa Development Zone Office in Karimganj district was arrested for embezzling Rs. 50 lakhs from the constituency development fund.

Allegations were also levelled against him for stealing money to the tune of lakhs from 4 other panchayats, when he was serving there as Secretary.
