ABVP GC College Unit takes a dig at the COE for postponement of Bengali exam of TDC 4th Sem Commerce
The said exam "BNGLAN (Commerce) 401" will now be held in the afternoon session of 22 September
way2barak, Sept.14: ABVP Gurucharan College Unit today submitted a memorandum addressed to the Controller of Examinations (COE), Assam University through the Principal of GC College, regarding the postponement of TDC CBCS B.Com 4th Semester Examination of Bengali Language without any prior notice and information.
In their memorandum, ABVP stated that such incidents breaks the morale of the students and has got negative mental effect. Even in the past, such things happened. ABVP also issued a note of caution to the COE and stated that they will launch a movement if such incidents occur again in the future.
In the afternoon session on 12 September, Bengali Exam of TDC 4th Semester (Arts & Commerce) was held. In all the affiliated colleges under Assam University where examinations were held, the invigilators had already distributed the answer scripts to the students. However, at 1.30 PM, just when the question papers were being distributed among the students, it was suddenly discovered that the packets contained only the questions of Bengali (Arts). But to the surprise of all, there were no question of Bengali (Commerce) in the packets.
After around 15 minutes of the start of the examination, COE Dr S.Dutta Roy gave a message in the WhatsApp group of the College Principal. The COE wrote, “BNGLAN (Commerce) 401 examination scheduled to be held on 12-09-2022 afternoon is hereby postponed until further order. Date will be notified soon.”
The COE, a day later informed that the said exam “BNGLAN (Commerce) 401” will now be held in the afternoon session of 22 September, 2022.
