Clinics of 6 ‘fake dentists’ sealed for not able to produce BDS certificates

August 11: Karimganj District Administration has undertaken a drive to identify dentists who are running clinics in the town without obtaining any valid degree. Certain dentists are carrying on the business of dentistry in Karimganj town since the last few years with fake BDS degree.

As per reports, some recently passed out dentists had lodged a complaint with Karimganj District Administration wherein they alleged that certain persons without possessing any degree are running dental clinics in the town and thereby endangering the lives of many patients.

On the basis of specific complaint, Deputy Commissioner Mridul Jadav deputed an Executive Magistrate to investigate into the matter.

The Executive Magistrate served notices to 6 dentists running their clinics in the heart of Karimganj town. These dentists were asked to show their documents of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) within 48 hours. However, these 6 dentists failed to produce their BDS certificates within the stipulated time.

Finally, on the direction of Deputy Commissioner Mridul Yadav, Executive Magistrate Bikram Chasa along with District Joint Director of Health Services sealed the chambers of these ‘fake dentists’ on Thursday night. These six ‘fake dentists’ were identified as: MH Laskar, Sagar Dey, R Laskar, A Rahman, R Ahmed and Z Islam.
