Stranded passengers at Ditokcherra evacuated by a special train have reached Silchar

May 15: The stranded passengers at Ditokcherra who were evacuated by a special train have reached Silchar on Sunday evening. 

“The evacuation special train has reached Silchar and after a final count it has been seen that a total of 1245 passengers have been evacuated successfully by train. Airlifting is being done to evacuate the remaining passengers at Ditokcherra,” stated Northeast Frontier Railway in their official twitter handle.

Meanwhile, 204 stranded passengers who had reached Maibang have left along with the special train to Guwahati.
