Street play organised by BVWDS to spread awareness on mental health issues

Feb. 16: A street play on Mental Health Awareness was organised by NGO Barak Valley Welfare Development Society (BVWDS), Silchar on Wednesday under the aegis of National Mental Health Programme supported by District Health Society (DHS), National Health Mission (NHM) Cachar, Silchar. The street play was performed at several places of Silchar including near the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Railway Station, Rangirkhari Point etc.

The street play team highlighted issues related to mental health. Information was also disseminated through the play about various facilities offered by the government on Mental Health Programme and about the preventive measures of mental health issues. They also distributed leaflets in local languages.The programme came to an end with the customary vote of thanks offered by the Executive Director of the organization Gaurav Chanda.
