MBA Dept of Assam University keeps up its tradition of almost cent percent placement

Jan. 30: The Master of Business Administration (MBA), Department of Assam University, Silchar is moving ahead with a great pace. The aspect which matters the most in such professional courses is that of placement of students after the completion of their course. With one more semester to go, the MBA Department has been successful in getting their students placed in reputed companies. This year (20221-22) almost 80 percent of the students were offered placement and the last semester is yet to be completed, the faculty members are hopeful of cent percent placement of their students.

As of now, 35 students have already secured their placement. This was informed by Dr Deepjyoti Choudhury, Assistant Professor, MBA Department of Assam University. Here is the break-up of the placement details of this year:

  • 3 students got placement in ITC
  • 1 student got placement in Berger paints
  • 9 students got placement in Bandhan Bank
  • 2 students got placement in Bandhan Micro Finance
  • 6 students got placement in ICICI Securities
  • 11 students got placement in ICICI Bank
  • 1 student got placement in CRTD Technology
  • 2 students got placement in Dalmia Cement.

Out of the 35 students, one Anannya Home Choudhury has secured the highest package of Rs. 10 lakh per annum.

It needs mention here that in 2018-19, students of the department got 99.5% placement. In 2019-20, a total of 90% students could secure placement. In 2020-21, 73 percent students got successfully placed. And in 2021-22, till now 80 percent students were placed.

Dr Deepjyoti Choudhury further informed that the expected date of new admission to MBA Department is 15 February, 2022. This time, the students can also get admitted through CUCET, XAT and CMAT.
