Steep rise in Covid cases in Assam; 351 found positive on Monday, 2 deaths registered

Jan 3: On Monday, out of 36,613 tests, 351 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 6,21,422. The positivity rate in the state is 0.96 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 164 positive cases during the day. Further, on Monday, 02 died in the state due to COVID-19. The deceased are from Sivasagar and Sonitpur. The death toll in the state stands at 6,167. The recovery rate is 98.59 percent. Also, 53 patients were discharged during the day. At present, there are 1,270 active cases in the state.

It needs mention here that on Sunday, 156 persons tested positive in Assam and no death was registered.
