No more online, HSLC & HS exam in March in offline mode; students to be vaccinated by 9 Jan

Dec. 31: On Wednesday, state Education Minister, Dr Ranoj Pegu, while interacting with the media informed that the HSLC and HS examinations will commence in Assam from 15 March and will conclude within mid-April. On 31 December, Health Minister Keshab Mahanta during a press meet in Guwahati stated that the HSLC and HS examination in the state will be conducted in offline mode.

Minister Keshab Mahanta also added that well ahead of the commencement of these two examinations, both the doses of Covid vaccines will be administered to the students who would appear in HSLC and HS exam. He further stated that the said vaccination process in schools and colleges will be completed within one week from January 3 to January 9, 2022. “The government aimed to vaccinate 10 lakh students with Covaxin,” quipped the minister.

The health minister also informed that no Omicron cases has been confirmed in Assam yet but the state government is alert and fully prepared to tackle any such cases, if detected. He also informed that 7-day mandatory quarantine for international travelers. The quarantine is mandatory even after testing negative at Railway Station and Airports.
