MLA Silchar interacts with people whose shops & houses were burnt at Hospital Road, assures help from govt
Oct 17: On the wee hours of Maha Asthami (13 October), several shops and houses were burnt to ashes at Hospital Road, Silchar where a major fire broke out. Though the exact cause of the outbreak of fire could not be ascertained till now, but many held that the dispute between the land owner and tenants could be the major cause of the incident.
On Saturday, MLA Silchar Dipayan Chakraborty paid a visit to Hospital road and interacted with those whose shops and houses were gutted in the fire. Expressing his views, the MLA said, “I have visited the ground zero and immediately started proper liasoning with Assam Government so that quick and sound required financial support may be extended to the aforesaid families.”
During the spot visit, Dipayan Chakraborty was accompanied by ex-ward Commissioners and Senior party workers like Mitra Roy, Gopika Deb, Madhumita Sharma, Debasish Shome, Ajit Deb, Mithun Roy, Chinmoy Deb and others.
