With 5 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 6 on 5 October, 1 death at SMCH

Oct. 5: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Tuesday at 10.50 PM. As per the latest data, 05 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 06 persons were found positive in the district on 5 October. Earlier, at 5 PM, it was informed that 01 person was found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 55. This was informed by District Media Expert on Tuesday night. Also, 02 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Tuesday, 02 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 2,280 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 01 person was found positive, whereas 05 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 2,01,103 whereas during this phase, 19,837 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 55 active patients:

16 of them are admitted at SMCH
06 at MH
03 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
01 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
29 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 4 October to 5 PM on 5 October) witnessed the death of 01 more Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening. The deceased was identified as:

• Sitangshu Sekhar Nath (90) from Premtola in Silchar was admitted at SMCH on 30 September. The patient, however, breathed his last on 4 October.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 5 October, there were 18 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 03 patients were put under ventilator support, and 05 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 01 Covid positive patient was admitted at SMCH and none of them was discharged.
