Ahead of Durga Puja, huge quantity of explosives recovered in Guwahati

Oct. 1: Ahead of the Durga Puja festival, militants were planning a major attack in Assam, which was foiled by the state police. On Friday, Assam Police has recovered gelatin sticks worth over Rs 15 crores from near ISBT in Guwahati.

Taking to his twitter handle, Chief Minister Dr himanta Biswa Sarma stated that a WGPD patrol party from Gorchuk Police Station interdicted a huge cache of explosives, including 4660 Gelatin sticks and 2300 electronic detonators on Friday morning, after apprehending a speeding Bolero. Two persons, identified as Ainal Ali & Rahim Badsha, were arrested with the contraband. Further investigation is on.
