HPC liquidator issues eviction notice to Nagaon & Cachar Paper Mill employees

Sept 4: In a significant development, the employees of Nagaon Paper Mill and Cachar Paper Mill in Assam have been asked to vacate their accommodation/ quarters within 15 days or will be faced with legal action. This was stated in a notification issued by the liquidator on Friday.

Defunct HPC Mill at Panchgram

The notification issued by the liquidator Kuldeep Verma stated, “All the erstwhile Officers, Workers and Employees of Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited-In Liquidation (hereinafter referred to as Corporate Debtor or Company) as per list attached as Annexure A, presently residing at Cachar Paper Mill, Panchgram, Hailakandi District, Assam (hereinafter referred to as ‘CPM-) who were working or were employed in CPM plant of the Corporate Debtor having its registered office at South Tower,41h Floor, Scope Minor Complex, Laxminagar, District Centre, New Delhi-110092.”

“The undersigned is the Liquidator of the Company and the undersigned is in the process of liquidating the assets of the Company including CPM comprising of factory, township, vacant land and other assets under provisions of the Code. With a view to facilitate sale of CPM and realise maximum value therefrom, it would be necessary for liquidator to get vacant possession of CPM land and buildings being put to sale in liquidation. Since your employment with the Corporate Debtor came to end with effect from 02.05.2019 or earlier due to superannuation/ resignation/ death or termination from the services of the Corporate Debtor, your occupation of the accommodation/ quarters occupied by you is unauthorised and you are required to vacate the same,” stated the notification.

The liquidator further stated, “The undersigned hereby calls upon all the notices’ to vacate the accommodation/ quarters occupied by them within 15 days of this notice by handing vacant, physical and peaceful possession thereof to the undersigned (through Mr. Arindam Roy (Mobile No. 91014 48552) who is posted as Authorised
Representative in CPM), failing which the undersigned will be compelled to take legal action for getting back vacant possession of the accommodation/ quarters in your occupation.”
