586 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Saturday, 675 discharged & 9 deaths registered

Aug 28: On Saturday, out of 84,785 tests, 586 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 5,88,025. The positivity rate in the state is 0.69 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 123 positive cases during the day. Further, on Saturday, 09 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 5,636. The recovery rate is 97.78 percent.

It needs mention here that on Friday, 499 persons tested positive in Assam and 09 deaths were registered.

On Saturday, 675 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,74,955 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam.  At present, there are 6,087 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 09 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 09 deceased, 04 are from Barpeta; 01 each from Dibrugarh, Golaghat & Kamrup Metro.The death tally of the state now stands at 5,636.
