499 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Friday, 739 discharged & 9 deaths registered

Aug 27: On Friday, out of 75,004 tests, 499 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 5,87,439. The positivity rate in the state is 0.67 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 113 positive cases during the day. Further, on Friday, 09 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 5,627. The recovery rate is 97.76 percent.

It needs mention here that on Thursday, 562 persons tested positive in Assam and 11 deaths were registered.

On Thursday, 776 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,73,541 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam.  At present, there are 6,434 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 09 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 09 deceased, 03 each are from Golaghat & Kamrup Metro; 02 from Udalguri; 01 from Sivasagar. The death tally of the state now stands at 5,627.
